Comprehensive development, ideation, creation, and design of a pop-up packaging for the debut album "Diversity" by urban artist Basty Beam.

This exceptional and distinctive design incorporates a pop-up mechanism in the shape of a claw, securing the CD and mechanically releasing it upon opening. Furthermore, it surprises with a second fold-out that reveals a large poster that opens and closes automatically.

The concept of this album is based on diversity, as each song belongs to a different music genre. Therefore, it was crucial to represent this concept through the design, which is reflected in several aspects of it.

On one hand, the cover is simple and minimalist, inspired by Frank Ocean's "Blonde" album cover. It features only the word "Diversity" centered, surrounded by different strokes in the form of ovals, both digital and handwritten. These strokes allude to different realities and their coexistence.

  • Another aspect where the concept of diversity is showcased is in the booklet. The idea was to ask the artist for the contacts of their friends so that each one, with their handwriting and personality, would write the lyrics of the album's songs. This way, a diversity of styles coexists in the same space, adding a unique value to the project.

Regarding the colors used throughout the work, black, red, and white are predominant. The goal was to merge urban art and graffiti with expressionist elements and apply them to the design.

Following this, a chronological journey of the project is presented, from the initial sketches and textures to prototypes and the final design. It concludes with a photoshoot of the product with the artist. Finally, you will find a project summary video that includes a short music video along with the production and development process of the packaging."
